Savannah Bee Company’s Royal Jelly Body butter is a staff favorite at Soakology. Royal Jelly is made by bees to feed to the developing queen, so as a body butter, it is nutrient-packed and very nourishing for the skin.  We love how it softens and repairs skin, and the light blackberry scent is delicious! This luxuriant product is used to do the foot and lower-leg massage our monthly special, “End of Summer; Bummer.”

LP’s Tea Pick of the Week: Pitta herbal tea with Jasmine Pearls!

image

We have been brewing up this concoction all week and serving samples in the tea-house!
Jasmine Pearls is a Chinese green tea infused with heat and jasmine blossoms, then hand rolled into small pearls. Pitta is an Ayurvedic herbal tea, made with rose petals, hibiscus, chamomile, and peppermint. It is a soothing, calming tea and has a sweet, floral flavor. These two teas blended together have a wonderfully fragrant aroma and a delicious flavor with a variety of floral notes.

Orange Blossom Foot and Body Powder by Tadé

DSC_0118[1]

Tadé’s orange blossom talcum powder smells great! Its subtle scent is sweet and floral with citrus undertones. Its talcum powder base is great for absorbing excess moisture or perspiration on the body and feet. Citronella is great for calming over-active oil glands in the skin.  Almond oil keeps the skin smooth and hydrated, and prevents over-drying.  The powder also contains several plant extracts that have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that can help alleviate the symptoms of Athlete’s foot and unpleasant odors.  This uplifting powder is dusted on the feet at the end of our current monthly special: “End of Summer; Bummer.”  Come in to Soakology and try it out today!

Why not try a cup of chamomile lavender tea?  Both chamomile and lavender have been widely used to promote sleep and relaxation.  As a combined infusion, these herbs have a calming effect that may help the restless night-owl wind down. As with other herbal teas, it is caffeine free.  Its sweet floral taste is appealing to both children and adults.

DE-STRESS!!!

maine-fall-colors

Stress is a natural reaction of the body to situations that could potentially cause us harm. Our stress reaction has evolved to protect us from dangerous or threatening situations. However, the trials of daily life can sometimes trigger our bodies’s natural stress response. Under stress, we may experience physical symptoms including headaches, decreased appetite, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and panic attacks and or anxiety and problems sleeping. Research suggests that stress also can bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases. For these reasons it is essential to manage stress and taking time out to relax (with a cup of tea, perhaps??) is one way to do that. Massage therapy has proven helpful in relieving stress as well. Additionally, massage therapy can be effective in alleviating the symptoms of other conditions such as arthritis, lower back pain, headaches, insomnia, anxiety, circulatory problems, and recovery from a sports injury.
